FAQ

What is “bleed?”

The “bleed” is the area that is trimmed off after printing. It gives us some room to work with when cutting, and it allows us to account for any slight movement that happened during printing. Think of it as a buffer area, essentially.

What type of files should I send?

Please send PDF files.

These files are easier for us to work with and the best way to make sure that your file gets printed exactly as you intended. Remember to add crop marks and flatten your files before uploading. Please do not send Word Doc files.

What is color mode all about?

If you are using a RGB file, there is a chance that a color shift may occur and you may not be satisfied with your job. You should always start and finish your designs in CMYK color mode.

What DON‘T you print ?

I get lots of people asking for screen printing - I have all these awesome posters up in my shop, but I didn’t print those - I just really love posters. Check out End Hymns.

I do not do screen printing, die cutting, 3-D printing, or vinyl lettering. I’m sure that there are many other things that I don’t have the option of printing in-house, but this is a good list to get us started!

Should I arrange multiple up on a page, to save you some time?

No. I do print on large sheets, so sometimes it is easier to bunk more than one up on a page, but in most cases, it’s easiest for ME to set that up myself.

Please just send me your artwork “one-up".”

Do you do proofs or samples?

If you’re doing a large run of something and want to see how the color/image quality looks before we print the whole job - I’m happy to run a sample. This doesn’t include any bindery work or cutting - but it will give you an idea of what the ink will look like on the paper that we’ve selected.

If you are doing a smaller run and would like to see what things look like, I will run samples at a per-piece price.

If I order more, the price goes down?

It’s just that easy!
This applies to the same artwork only.

If you’re ordering 50 prints of an apple, and 50 more prints of an orange - your price will be the 50-piece price for both, NOT the 100-piece price.

If you order 25 banana prints, and 249 kiwi prints - you’ll get the 25-piece price for the bananas and the 100-piece price for the kiwis (as you haven’t hit the 250 mark, which is where the next price break is).

TEMPLATES

Please use these templates to make your creating designs as easy as possible… for both of us!

The dotted line is where your image will get trimmed, everything in the red is set to be cut off. The solid line is the “safe zone,” keep any important text or images INSIDE this line.
